Vietnam attends Seoul Friendship Fair 2011

Embassies and art troupes from countries around the world attended the Seoul Friendship Fair 2011 held at Seoul Plaza in the Republic of Korean capital on May 7-8.

A parade of art troupes wearing their different national costumes marched along the city’s streets before the fair opened.

The Vietnamese artists in non la (palm-leaf conical hats) and ao dai (the traditional long dress) made a deep impression on viewers.

Nguyen Thi Thai Thong, cultural counselor at the Vietnamese embassy to the Republic of Korea, said that Vietnam had two booths at the fair displaying the country’s cuisine and handicraft and visitors were very keen on nem ran (spring rolls) and pho bo (beef noodle soup).

They also enjoyed Quan Ho singing and Highland dances performed by the Hanoi College of Art. (Source: VOV)
