National Circus Gala 2012 to be held in HCM City

On March 13th 2012, a press conference was held to introduce the National Circus Gala 2012 which will take place from March 30th to April 8th at the HCM City circus.

This is the first time a National Circus Gala will be held. 25 circus artists from HCM City and Hanoi Circus troupes and the Vietnam Circus Federation (VCF) will bring acts which won international prizes in Cuba, Italy and China to the event.

The “Power of the Arms” performance by the two brothers Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep won the Grand Prix prize and the Audience Award, while the “Superman Swing” show bagged the bronze medal at the 2011 International Summer Circus Festival (Circuba 2011). Besides these, there are other acts such as “Prestidigatation” by the superb artist Ngoc Bao, “Palay with a hoop” by Bich Lien, and “Python circus”.

The superb artist and Vice Director of the HCM City circus troupe Ngoc Anh said that the gala aims to preserve and promote circus arts, drawing the participation of circus performers from troupes from Hanoi and HCM City. The event will also be a good chance for artists exchange and learn each other.
